The AS-303 sensor inspects single lines of adhesive by optically detecting and measuring the glue line or dot. Offering fine resolution of 1mm, the AS-303 has the advantage of not requiring any additives in the glue such as UV contrast. The unique, multi-wavelength built-in light detectors make the sensor robust to background colors and surfaces such as plates, belts and printed paper-based stocks. Suitable for sensing glue on envelopes, folding cartons, corrugated cases and boxes as well as films, the AS-303 offer robust detection of both lines and dots and accurately measures adhesive volume as well as length. The AS-303 even detects the paper or box signal and requires no additional photo-eye to trigger.
The AS-303H detects hot melts including Metallocene, EVA and PSA whether hot or cooled. Unlike temperature sensors which rely on the hot melt still being hot and must be placed very close to the applicator, the AS-303H can be mounted far away from the applicator valve and still detect the bead. The detection principle of the AS-303H relies on the unique spectral signature of compounds in hot melts that are separated from broad spectrum light.
