California-based GMS® will strengthen Valco Melton’s prominence in the print finishing and folding carton industries, and broaden the market for GMS gluing products.
Valco Melton, a leading supplier of adhesive dispensing equipment and quality assurance systems to the converting industries, has acquired the assets of California-based Gluing Machinery & Systems Inc. (GMS®). Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The move was made as part of Valco Melton’s strategy to expand its scope of offerings to customers in the print finishing and folding carton industries.
GMS, manufacturer of microglue®, has been servicing the needs of the graphic arts industries since 1977. Located in Petaluma, California, the company specializes in high-performance, hot and cold glue application systems, specifically designed for the unique application requirements within the direct mail, paper and board converting, and print finishing markets.
“GMS brings over 37 years of technical expertise serving the graphic arts industries,” says Greg Amend, CEO and Chairman of Valco Melton. “The addition of the company’s unique microglue® equipment will complement Valco Melton’s existing product line, providing customers with high quality, cost-effective products that meet all their application needs.
Tom DeVito, owner of GMS, agrees the acquisition is a perfect fit. “Valco Melton’s worldwide network of sales and support offers the geographical reach that will help expand the distribution of GMS microglue® products around the globe, while promoting Valco Melton’s prominence in print finishing, folding carton and other converting markets.”
Valco Melton continuously looks for opportunities to evolve and expand the scope of its core business offerings. The company’s recent decision to acquire the assets of GMS represents its commitment toward being the world leader in adhesive dispensing and quality assurance systems.
